Today at the orphanage there were only 6 of the 15 boys present. We asked the staff where the others had gone, and apparently not all boys are orphans, but some parents simply don't have money to take care of them throughout the year. As it's now summer holidays until the end of August, a lot of parents have picked their kids up for the holidays. Only 4-5 boys are gonna be left until the end of August, and sadly it most probably means that me and Robbie are more needed at other homes, so we're going to have to say goodbye to the boys we've grown to like in only 2 weeks. I mean, we know all of their unpronounceable Sri Lankan names by heart now! Nothing is sure yet, but we'll see tomorrow. We tried to explain it to them, but sadly their English isn't advanced enough to understand several sentences like that in a row. Sad times.
The only thing that could cheer me up is a picture of my malli (younger brother in Sinhala) at my homestay sitting on a table surrounded by vegetables. Oh, but wait! I think I have one of those right here:
Tonight some of us are going to one of the leaders at the adventure camp's house for her daughter's birthday celebration. Will be very interesting!
